School engaged in a heritage celebration by showcasing different cultures to engage in heritage month. Students were encouraged to wear traditional outfits representing their cultural heritage. Classrooms were decorated with posters bunting and other decorations that highlight South Africa's cultural diversity within the school. Cultures such as Zulu,Venda,Sesotho and XiTsonga were celebrated.

Aqua Enduro competition(Department of water and sanitation) in the Aqua Enduro competition. Protea glen Secondary School was represented by Mr.Lekalakala, who coordinated the Gauteng team. The team secured an impressive 2nd place at the national level. Learner Mashudu Ndou from protea Glen Secondary school no 1 was integral part of the team prepared by Mam Ndwandwe, contributing to their success.

Team participated in a school debate at Sekano Ntoane on the 14th of September 2024. The team made it to the semi-finals.

Activities like "Impromptu Speaking" and "Extemporaneous Speaking" was conducted in that students were given a topic and a short amount of time to prepare and deliver a speech. Tournaments were Organized with different debate formats (e.g., policy debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate) to give students a competitive experience.Students competed in multiple rounds, presenting their arguments and responding to their opponents. The Tournaments were very competitive they helped students hone their debate skills and gain experience.

Learner participated in financial literacy. The learner got 3rd position. The competition consisted of two rounds—school and district. Students delivered a five-minute prepared speech on a prescribed financial literacy topics. Topics: Budgeting, savings, investments, consumer rights, and responsibilities.

Prizes: Top learners received fully funded bursaries worth approximately R150,000 to study at any public university in South Africa.

In the Bokamoso Creative Essay Competition, more than 30 learners from Protea Glen participated. The coordinating team, led by Mr. Lekalakala, Mam Nyazeka, Mam Ntuli and Mam Lethoba, saw learner Esethu Khumalo rise to the top, securing 3rd place in a highly competitive field. Esethu was awarded R70,000 for the school and R5,000 for herself, cementing the school's reputation for fostering talent and creativity. These victories highlight Protea glen Secondary School No. 1s commitment to excellence in science on both individual and collective achievement.

Students were encouraged to bring in donations for a local charity as part of the holiday spirit.The school organized a secret santa gift exchange with a small budget to ensure all Students can participate. Invitations: Parents, guardians, and community members were invited to join in the festivities to celebrate together. Students were allowed to showcase their talents with a holiday twist, such as singing Christmas songs, dancing and performing skits. All thanks to Winny Radebe foundation who sponsored the school.

Celebratory Outing: An overnight outing trip was organized for the students to celebrate their achievements together. Awards and speeches were given by the teachers and students reflecting on their high school experiences. A meaningful and memorable send-off for matriculants as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives.
